Roots and Restoration

Blue Door’s First Trauma Workshop

What a joy to discover that I am safer than I once believed.

This weekend marked a meaningful milestone for Blue Door—our very first trauma workshop. What began as an idea, a burden, and a quiet “yes” became a room filled with women willing to show up and lean in to our stories.

We didn’t approach trauma from a single angle. Instead, we moved through it with intention—examining our experiences through a Biblical lens, a psychological lens, and even through the lens of neuroscience. Each perspective offered language, insight, and structure. But more importantly, it gave permission: permission to understand, to feel, and to begin reframing what once felt overwhelming.

But for me, what stood out most wasn’t the content; it was community.

There is something powerful that happens when people gather not to fix one another, but to sit beside one another. In that space, healing shifts from something we chase to something we begin to experience.

Safety becomes tangible.

Walls lower.

And stories—once carried alone—are witnessed with compassion.

The “Tree of Life” exercise is a visual reminder that even what is buried deep—pain, history, hardship—can still be part of something living, growing, and being gloriously restored.

We learned new things, yes. But more than that, I was reminded of something essential:

We are not meant to heal in isolation.

For me personally, this workshop was a reminder of how much value other women bring into my life—not just in support, but in presence. There is strength in shared space. There is restoration in being seen.

To every woman who attended: thank you. Thank you for your honesty, your courage, and your willingness to engage in something deeper. You helped create an environment where healing wasn’t just discussed—it was experienced.

This is only the beginning for Blue Door.

We are committed to creating spaces that support growth, clarity, and transformation—not just through information, but through connection.

Because healing doesn’t happen in theory; it happens in community.
